Omar Degan is a professor of architecture, writer and Principal of Do Architecture Group, an architecture firm based between Somalia, Italy and the USA specializing in emergency architecture and community development.
His firm’s principle lies in designing culturally, historically and climatically relevant solutions to social problems worldwide, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable communities. In 2022 he become an Obama Africa Leader and in 2023 founded the FragilityLab, a research and consultancy firm that aims to support the development process in the most fragile contexts of the world providing guidance and improving the capacity building of private sector, government and organizations. .
