One of the main hurdles to Africa’s growth challenges remains the shortage of physical infrastructure; transport, communication, water, power/energy. The effect of the electricity deficit and low internet penetration has been devastating during the pandemic when millions of pupils and students had to learn online, and for the distribution of vaccines in some countries. What opportunities for digitisation, building roads, cold storage, power generation, and unifying grids across countries presented themselves?
